My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, what if today were your final day on earth? What if, before the sun sets, you were to take your last breath?
Would your heart be at peace with God, or still clinging to the temporary things of this world? Would you spend these final hours chasing distractions, holding onto pride, bitterness, and sin — or would you fall to your knees in repentance, gratitude, and love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
So many people live as though tomorrow is guaranteed, yet none of us truly know the hour when we will stand before God. Life is fragile. One moment we are here, making plans for the future, and the next, eternity is before us. This is why Scripture calls us to stay spiritually awake, to keep our lamps filled, and to walk daily in repentance, humility, and obedience to God.
If today were your last day, would you forgive the person you keep avoiding? Would you finally open your Bible instead of postponing your relationship with God? Would you spend more time in prayer than scrolling endlessly through the world’s noise? Would you tell your loved ones you care for them? Would your soul be truly ready to meet Christ?
My beautiful sister, this is not meant to fill you with fear, but with wisdom. Every breath we have is mercy from God. Every sunrise is another opportunity to repent, grow, love deeper, and draw closer to Him. Do not wait for “someday” to take your faith seriously. Someday is never promised.
Live in such a way that if Christ called you home today, your soul would not be ashamed to stand before Him. Stay close to prayer. Stay close to the Holy Bible. Stay close to repentance. Stay close to Holy Communion. Stay close to Christ.
Nourish your soul with His Body and Blood, for Holy Communion is not simply a tradition, but a sacred gift of unity, healing, mercy, and life through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Draw near to Him daily with humility, reverence, and a sincere heart, because apart from God, the soul grows weak — but in Him, it finds true peace, strength, hope, and eternal life.
And always remember life is a precious gift, yet it is fleeting. None of us knows the day or the hour when we will be called from this world. Let today be a day of repentance, faith, and love. Do not allow anything to separate you from Christ, for He is our hope, our salvation, and our eternal life.
Do not delay in turning to Him. Seek His mercy, walk in His ways, and draw near to Him with all your heart. Live each day as though it were your last, not in fear, but in faith, purpose, and readiness.
Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
