My family and I take a lot of road trips. When I drive, I do not have road rage and I am very patient, except when I miss my exit and cannot make a U turn on the highway. Many times U turns are not allowed and I have to continue to go out of my way until I find an exit route to allow me to get back in the right direction. This simple mistake, adds minutes to hours to my trip.
Similar to driving, we can get lost in life as well. If you are doing anything displeasing to God and stepping away from His commandments, then you are going the wrong way. In life when we go in the wrong direction, it often leads to a mass destruction and we can feel like we are stuck with no way out. If you have fallen into the devil’s temptations and feel there is no way out, please know God allows U turns!
There is nothing more pleasing to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ than for the lost to find their way back to Him. Jesus said, “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.” Matthew 18: 12 – 14 (NKJV).
The question remains, are you willing to take a U turn or will you continue to go the wrong direction with the thought that you only live once (YOLO)? How long will it take and will it be too late for you to turn around?
Turn around today, as we do not know what tomorrow may bring!
“Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.” Proverbs 27:1 (NKJV)
