From Worry to Prayer

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, it is so easy to carry things on your own without even realizing it. Thoughts begin to pile up, situations become overanalyzed, and there is that quiet pressure to figure everything out alone. Even the small things can start to feel too insignificant to pray about, but they are not. Nothing placed upon your heart is too small to bring before God.

If something is on your heart, it matters to God. If it brings worry or even the slightest heaviness, it is worthy of prayer. There is something so beautiful about inviting God into every part of your life, your decisions, your relationships, your timing, and even the small, everyday moments. Because with God, those little things are not small at all.

And do not forget, you are not alone in your prayers. Our blessed mother, Saint Mary, is always near, loving and interceding for us. Ask her to pray for you, and to lift your concerns before her Son. There is comfort in knowing that our blessed mother who is so pure and faithful is interceding on your behalf.

So instead of trying to control everything or figure it all out on your own, bring it to God in prayer. Talk to your spiritual father for spiritual guidance simply and honestly. And let prayer become part of your daily life, not only in difficult moments, but in all things.

Peace comes from knowing that God is with you, guiding you, and caring for every detail of your life. And with His peace, and the prayers of Saint Mary surrounding you, your heart will find rest.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
