The Pencil Parable

The following  is a wonderful parable about a Pencil Maker. I hope it encourages you to know that you are a special person, with unique God-given talents and abilities. Enjoy!

Just before the Pencil Maker put the pencils in their box he told them. . . There are five things you need to know before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and you will become the best pencil you can be:

1.) EVERYTHING YOU DO WILL ALWAYS LEAVE A MARK .

2.) YOU CAN ALWAYS CORRECT THE MISTAKES YOU MAKE.

3.) WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WHAT IS INSIDE OF YOU.

4.) IN LIFE , YOU WILL UNDERGO PAINFUL SHARPENINGS, WHICH WILL ONLY MAKE YOU BETTER.

5.) TO BE THE BEST, YOU MUST ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE HELD AND GUIDED BY THE HAND THAT HOLDS YOU.

Always know, you will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God’s hand. Never allow yourself to stay discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot be changed. Like the pencil, the most important part of who you are, is what’s inside of you.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
