Remembering the Cross

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, some hear the story of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during Fasika (Easter) so often that their hearts grow familiar with it, but we must never let it become light in our eyes. Because what He carried was anything but light.

He did not walk toward the Cross without knowing.
He knew the betrayal.
He knew the pain.
He knew the nails, the mocking, the loneliness.
He knew the silence of the tomb before the glory of the Resurrection.

And still… He chose to go.

This is not the love the world speaks about, fleeting, emotional, and shallow.
This is sacrificial love.
This is mercy that costs everything.
This is the love of heaven that refused to leave you behind.

There are quiet moments in life when your heart feels heavy, when no one seems to see your tears, when your soul feels tired in a way words cannot explain. Moments when you carry burdens in silence.

But Fasika reminds us of this truth:
Christ sees you.
Christ knows.
Christ understands.

He entered suffering willingly.
He took upon Himself what we could never carry.
He stretched out His hands on the Cross so that your life would never be without hope.

Before we rejoice at the empty tomb, we must stand at the Cross.
Because it is there that love was proven, not in words, but in wounds.

This is not only the story of what He endured.
It is the revelation of your worth to Him.

You were worth the journey.
You were worth the suffering.
You were worth the Cross.

So this Fasika…

Let the Cross humble your heart.
Let it heal your wounds.
Let it remind you that the greatest love this world has ever known carried your name within it.

And never forget, He did it all for you.
