Still a Diamond

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, deep in the earth, a diamond looks ordinary, dark, rough, and overlooked. Yet even there, its value never changes. It’s still a diamond. Long before it is polished, long before anyone sees its shine, the worth is already within it. The hand of man does not create its beauty; he simply reveals what was placed inside from the very beginning.

And so it is with you. You do not need a title, a ring, or applause to prove your worth. You do not have to wait for life to look perfect before you recognize your value. You already carry it within you, placed there by the loving hands of our Creator.

Maybe you are in a quiet season right now. Maybe doors have not opened the way you hoped, or the prayers you have poured out seem unanswered. Perhaps someone else received the promotion you worked so hard for, or the acceptance letter never came, and now you question your abilities. In those moments, it is easy to wonder, “Am I falling behind? Am I not good enough?”

Yet take heart, my sister, your worth is not defined by your circumstances. A diamond remains a diamond even when it is buried in the dirt. And you, precious daughter of God, remain treasured in His sight, no matter where life places you.

The Bible reminds us:

“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels.” (Malachi 3:17)

You are God’s jewel, precious, chosen, and deeply loved. And when the time is right, our Lord will lift you up, place you where His glory can be seen, and the beauty He planted in you will shine for all to see.

So, do not give up, my sister. Your time to shine will surely come, and it will be for God’s glory.

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you”

—Isaiah 60:1—
