Let Us Decide When To Jump!

When you put a frog into a vessel filled with water and start heating the water. As the temperature of the water begins to rise, the frog adjusts its body temperature accordingly.

The frog keeps adjusting its body temperature with the increasing temperature of the water. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog cannot adjust anymore. At this point the frog decides to jump out.

The frog tries to jump, but it is unable to do so because it has lost all its strength in adjusting with the rising water temperature. Very soon the frog dies.

What killed the frog?

Think about it!

I know many of us will say the boiling water, but the truth about what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when to jump out. There are times when we need to face the situation and there are times, we must take appropriate action. We all need to adjust with people and situations, but in doing so we need to be sure we never compromise our faith, self-worth and self-respect.

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, if you have a friend who is taking you down the wrong path, it’s time for you to “jump out” and get a new friend. A friend who will walk with you and beside you in your Christian path. Don’t ever be afraid to choose your friends wisely, because some will lead you straight to hell. Not all the friends we make in life will stay for a lifetime. Some are there for a moment and some for a season. Therefore, don’t ever give power to anyone to lead you down the wrong path or to mistreat you in anyway. Always remember, if we allow people to abuse us physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually or mentally they will continue to do so. Learn to speak up for yourself and to never hesitate when it’s time to jump out!

Let’s jump while we still have the strength and before it’s too late!

Selam Seyoum

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good an acceptable and perfect will of God.
(Romans 12:2 NKJV).
