Tie a Knot and Hang on

If you knew, beyond a doubt, that your sorrow, distress, suffering, misery was going to turn into a glorious and amazing victory, would you still feel like giving up? Wouldn’t you keep going? Wouldn’t your sadness turn to the sweetest smile? Wouldn’t you feel like climbing the highest mountain to tell the whole world you made it?

This victory that waits at the end of every trial and tribulation comes from knowing God. God is victory! Therefore, the moment you trust God in your battle, you already won. As the Bible says, “For the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you” – Deuteronomy 20:4 (NKJV). There’s no storm that God won’t carry you through. No bridge that God won’t help you cross. No battle that God won’t help you win. Trust God and never give up. That is the victory that you must remember when you are going through difficult times.

There will be days when every trial will feel like an eternity and moving ahead will feel impossible. I know it might be difficult for you to see that sweet victory that is coming your way and it will feel as if God is so far away. But rest assured my Tewahedo Orthodox sister. God is right there beside you, helping you to get through this difficult time in your life. But you must hold on and you have to keep going. And when you have reached the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.

As you hang on, you have to erase your misconception that your life is supposed to be perfect or that you would never have to climb any mountains or jump any hurdles. You must understand that there will be times when this world will hate and despise you, and your heart may be broken. At times you may feel so alone and out of place. But no matter what, as long as your faith and trust lies in God. God will turn every trial and tribulation into the greatest blessing you have ever experienced. But you must trust in Him, as He is the only one who can mend broken hearts. He is the only one that can turn our triumph to victory, our tears of sorrow into tears of joy, and our days of darkness to light.

Therefore, whenever you feel like you are at the end of your rope, just tie a knot and hold on tightly my dear sister and don’t you give up. Stay encouraged and full of faith, because with God victory awaits us every time.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11: 6 (NKJV)
