With what or whom should I compare thee O blessed mother?

From the beginning of time no man, woman, Prophet, Apostle or saint of God has been found to be as pure as thee, thus thou and thou only art “Full of Grace” (Melete Tsega).

Before creation you were in the conscience of God (Helina Amlak) for the salvation of mankind through your Holy and beloved son Eyesus Kristos our Lord, King and God.

Is there a maiden as beautiful as thee and what woman can be compared to thee; thy eyes, thy mouth, thy ears, thy nose, thy face, thy hands, thy heart, O blessed mother I salute your entire body from head to toe, for surely there is no one as beautiful as thee.

Thou art truly:
The second Heaven (Dagemite Semai)
The Ark of Covenant (Tabot)
The rod of Aaron (Betri Aron)
The twofold virgin (Dengel Bekeleye)
Mary of Zion (Mariam Tseion)

With what lips or mouth should I praise thee O blessed mother, for surely I’m a sinful man unworthy to utter your magnificent and majestic name.

On this first day of the month of Genbot with great joy do I present you praise and honor in commemoration of your nativity (Ledetki), and for this I give glory, honor and praise to the Holy Trinity for creating you O blessed mother.
