Jesus said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment.” Matthew 22:37-38 (NKJV)
Now ask yourself is Christ or things the treasure of your heart? If you have become obsessed with money, movie stars, famous singers, electronics such as the latest apple gadgets or the latest fashion, not only is it sinful, but also very dangerous. Obsession with materialistic things and idoloizing people is not godliness and must be avoided at all cost.
As Tewahedo Orthodox Girls, we have to obey and adhere to God’s commands. God wants your whole heart! For you to love Him with all your soul and your mind, and never to place people or things before Him.
When you die and you are standing in front of God……..
God won’t ask how much money you had. He’ll ask how many people you helped with the money you had.
God won’t ask what kind of car you drove. He’ll ask how many people you drove who didn’t have transportation.
God won’t ask the square footage of your house. He’ll ask how many people you welcomed into your home.
God won’t ask about the clothes you had in your closet. He’ll ask how many you helped to clothe.
God won’t ask what your highest salary was. He’ll ask if you compromised your character to obtain it.
God won’t ask what your job title was. He’ll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability.
God won’t ask how many friends you had. He’ll ask how many people to whom you were a friend.
God won’t ask what neighborhood you lived in. He’ll ask how you treated your neighbors.
God won’t ask about the color of your skin. He’ll ask about the content of your character.
