My name is Selam Seyoum, and I am the heart behind Tewahedo Orthodox Girl. I am not worthy, but through God’s grace, I write to encourage my beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sisters to walk faithfully with Christ.
I grew up in the United States and have been married for 18 years to Father Hermon. Together, we are blessed with three wonderful boys who continue to teach me patience, love, and the beauty of family life rooted in faith.
It was my husband who first encouraged me to start this blog, Tewahedo Orthodox Girl. Through his support—and by the grace of God—this space was created as a way to share faith, hope, and encouragement with others.
Writing has become a way for me to share what God has been teaching me—lessons of humility, purity, perseverance, and grace. My words are all for the glory of God, and every message I share is a reflection of His mercy and love.
The life of our Holy Mother, St. Mary, reminds me daily of what it means to live in obedience, purity, and unwavering faith. Her gentle strength and deep humility continue to inspire me to trust God in all things.
Tewahedo Orthodox Girl was born out of a deep desire to remind every young woman that she is chosen, loved, and called to holiness.
As you read these words, my hope is that you find encouragement for your journey—strength for your trials, peace in your waiting, and joy in knowing that Christ walks beside you every step of the way. May each page draw your heart closer to the One who loves you beyond measure, and may the intercessions of our Holy Mother, St. Mary be with you always.
