Trust God in Every Need

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, one of my favorite stories in the Bible is when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ stood before the crowd of five thousand. He saw their hunger, their weakness, and every need they carried in their hearts. The disciples saw only scarcity. They saw impossibility. But Christ saw an opportunity to reveal the glory and power of God.

Miracles are never random. Every miracle recorded in the Bible was purposeful, a revelation of God’s character and His plan. They show us who Christ truly is: the Life Giver, the Provider, the All Powerful God. With just five loaves of bread and two small fish, an offering that seemed so small, our Lord showed the limitless power of God. What was tiny in human hands became more than enough in God’s hands. The bread and fish multiplied, feeding thousands, and even leftovers remained.

This story is not just from the past. It is alive today. The young boy gave what he had, not what he wished he had. And when he placed it in Christ’s hands, it was multiplied beyond imagination.

For us, as Tewahedo Orthodox believers, this is deeply comforting. There will be moments when your resources feel small, your strength, your patience, your finances, even your faith. You may look at your situation and wonder, “How will God provide?” But this story reminds us that God is not limited by what we lack. He is more than able to provide all of our needs, spiritual, emotional, and physical, according to His perfect wisdom.

Not only did He feed five thousand, but there were also twelve baskets left over. Twelve baskets! God is not a God of barely enough. He is a God of abundance. He gives generously, lovingly, and with perfect intention. When God provides, He provides fully. Nothing is wasted, and nothing is missing.

Trust Him, my sister. Bring your small offering, your prayers, your tears, your efforts, your obedience to Christ and place it at His feet. He sees your heart, He knows your needs, and He is more than able to provide.

We serve an amazing, faithful, and overflowing God. Let your heart find rest in that truth, and trust Him to meet every need.

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
