My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, pause for a moment and gently ask your heart this question:
Why are you allowing anxiety to consume you when you belong to a powerful, faithful, and ever present God?
The same God who holds the entire world beneath His feet is the very One holding your life in His loving hands. Nothing you are facing is too heavy for Him. Nothing in your life has taken Him by surprise. Not your worries, not your waiting, not your tears.
He is all knowing. He sees the beginning and the end at the same time.
He is all powerful. He speaks, and it comes to pass.
There is absolutely NOTHING beyond His reach.
In a single moment, God can turn your stress into calm and your anxiety into peace, but you must allow Him to do so. You must trust Him.
And I’m not talking about just saying you trust God. Trusting God is far more than simply saying, ‘I believe.’
It is choosing to place every part of your life into His hands, your worries, your plans, your fears, your unanswered prayers, and even the things you do not yet understand. It is believing, without any doubt, that His ways are higher than your ways and His wisdom far exceeds your own.
This kind of trust requires wholehearted surrender. It means leaning on Him fully, holding nothing back, and believing that He will act on your behalf in His perfect timing. When you trust God with your whole heart, anxiety begins to loosen its grip and His peace slowly fills the spaces where fear once lived.
My sister, stress and anxiety are not from God. They do not come from Him. As the Bible reminds us, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Stress and anxiety come from the enemy, Satan, whose desire is to keep you worried, fearful, overwhelmed, and exhausted. He wants you to believe you must carry every burden alone. But God, in His love and patience, gently whispers, ‘Come to Me.’ And when you wholeheartedly go to Him, He lifts the weight from your shoulders, quiets your racing thoughts, and fills your heart with His perfect peace. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ assures us, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).
I know we all walk through seasons of uncertainty. Can I do it? Will it happen? What if? Should I? Why is this happening? Did I miss something? These questions of doubt can quietly take over our thoughts and begin to shape how we live. But we were never meant to live our lives led by fear, uncertainty, or constant questioning. And this is why reading the Holy Bible is so important, especially in seasons of uncertainty. When life feels overwhelming, when your mind is restless, your heart is heavy, and your soul is burdened with worry, God’s Word becomes more than guidance. It becomes your anchor in the storm, your refuge in the chaos, and your unshakable source of strength.
The Scriptures are not just ink on a page; they are God speaking directly to your heart, gently reminding you of His unchanging love, His faithfulness, and the truth of who you are in Him. When anxiety begins to speak louder and fear tries to take hold, the Word of God restores clarity, brings peace to your soul, and reassures you that you are never alone. Each verse and every promise becomes a lifeline, grounding you in truth and drawing you closer to the One who holds all things in His hands.
In these moments, my beautiful sister, do not walk alone. God, in His wisdom and mercy, has given us spiritual fathers to guide, pray for, and carry us when our hearts feel heavy. This is why they are there. Speaking openly with your spiritual father brings light to the places where anxiety tries to hide. Every time we speak with our spiritual fathers, it feels as though a heavy load is lifted from our shoulders, because their words are rooted in prayer, Scripture, and the wisdom God has entrusted to them. Through their guidance, God offers comfort, clarity, and peace, reminding us that we are supported, protected, and never alone in our struggles.
But when we cling to our worries instead of surrendering them to God, stress and anxiety begin to grow and thrive when our trust becomes divided and our faith grows weak. But as you open the Bible and read God’s promises, your heart begins to steady and your faith is strengthened. God’s Word gently reassures the anxious soul and fills the emptiness that fear leaves behind.
The Bible lovingly reminds us, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you.” —Psalm 55:22
God never asked you to live weighed down by fear or crushed by anxious thoughts. He never intended for your heart to be a constant battlefield. Instead, He calls you to place every worry, every fear, and every concern into His faithful and loving hands, and He teaches you how to do this through His Word.
The Bible assure us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6 to 7
My beautiful sister, our loving Heavenly Father desires joy for you. He longs for you to live in lasting, unshakable peace. Rest your weary heart in Him, for God has never abandoned a heart that leans fully on Him. Let His Word become your daily refuge, your comfort in uncertainty, and your reminder that you are never alone.
The Bible tell us, “Those who trust in the Lord shall be like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved.” —Psalm 125:1
Trusting God does not promise a life without hardship, but it does promise that you will never face life alone. As you continue to read the Bible and cling to His promises, anxiety begins to fade, and His peace gently and powerfully takes its place.
Our God, who created the heavens and the earth, is more than able to care for you and every detail of your life. You are called to live in joy and walk boldly, facing every challenge with unwavering faith, knowing that God is greater than every fear, every worry, and every obstacle. Trust Him without fear, believe without doubt, and allow His peace to guard your heart always.
So today, let go of the stress and lay down the anxiety. With God, fear has no power and anxiety does not win.
“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
—1 Peter 5:7—
