PROUD TO BE A TEWAHEDO ORTHODOX GIRL – THE END

Looking back now, after all these years, my heart overflows with a gratitude that words can hardly capture. Marriage does not erase life’s challenges, but having a godly husband makes the journey easier, enjoyable and every moment worthwhile. And placing God at the center of our marriage became the anchor that carried us through every season: seasons of joy, seasons of growth, and seasons of trials that tested and strengthened us. Through it all, God’s faithfulness has never wavered, guiding our steps, strengthening our hearts, and filling our home with His boundless love.

Today, we stand together 18 years into our marriage, humbled and deeply blessed by the life God has built for us. He has entrusted us with three beautiful sons, each a living testimony of His mercy, love, and perfect timing. Our home is filled with love and laughter, the sound of running feet, prayers whispered before sleep, the joy of bringing them to church, and the quiet strength of raising them in the fear and love of God. Every day, as I watch my husband with our children. In those moments, I realize this is the true blessing of waiting on God.

When I reflect on my journey, the years of praying, fasting, hoping, reading my Bible, and trusting God even when the path felt uncertain I can say with full confidence: Waiting on God was the greatest blessing of my life. His timing was not just good, it was perfect. His plan was not just sufficient, it was abundant. The seasons of waiting that once felt long were actually God’s hands shaping my heart, preparing my purpose, and strengthening my faith for the life He knew I would one day live.

To every Tewahedo Orthodox Girl waiting, praying, and wondering when God will write your love story—this part is for you.

My beautiful sister, do not be discouraged by the timing of others. Do not measure your life by someone else’s season. God is not late. God is not silent. And God has not forgotten you. The same God who prepared me in my single years is preparing you right now, shaping your character, refining your spirit, and strengthening your faith for the blessing He has already appointed for you.

Trust Him. Walk with Him. When you place your life in His hands, you are not settling, you are aligning with His perfect will. And when God answers your prayer, you will joyfully say, “Lord, I’m so grateful I waited on You. Thank You.”

So keep praying.
Keep reading your Bible.
Keep talking with your spiritual father.
Keep serving in the church.
Keep working on your character, your peace, your walk with Christ.
And most of all, keep your eyes on God, not on the calendar.

Because when the right man comes, sent by God, and aligned with your purpose, you will know. And you will see how every tear, every lonely night, every unanswered question was worth it.

My sister, rest in this truth: what God prepares is always worth the wait. When He writes your story, it will be more beautiful than you could ever imagine. Trust Him with all your heart!

With love, your sister in Christ 🙏🏽❤️
