My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, faith is not a feeling. Feelings rise and fall. They change with circumstances, disappointment, and stress. But true faith is a decision. It is choosing to trust God even when you cannot see what He is doing… even when you do not feel strong… even when nothing makes sense.
Satan wants you to live by what you feel. He wants your heart to be overwhelmed, stressed, discouraged, confused, and distracted. He whispers doubt into your emotions so you forget what God has already spoken. But God does not call you to live by feelings. He calls you to live by truth. And His truth never changes. His promises never fail. His love never shifts with your emotions.
Remember the woman in the Bible who had suffered for twelve years. She had every reason to give up, to lose hope, and to drown in her feelings. But instead, she chose faith. She said within herself, “If I only touch the hem of His garment, I shall be healed.”
And with that simple, desperate, unwavering faith she reached out, touched Christ’s garment, and immediately received healing.
Her miracle did not come from a feeling… it came from faith.
In our Tewahedo Orthodox faith, we learn to anchor our hearts in prayer, fasting, repentance, and obedience. These holy practices are not based on how we feel, but on who God is. Faith grows when you choose to trust God in silence. It deepens when you choose His Word over your worries. His peace over your panic. His truth over your thoughts.
Feelings will pass, but God’s truth will stand forever. Always choose faith, my beautiful sister.
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
