Rest for the Burdened Heart

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, I know there are days when life feels unbearably heavy. I’ve walked through those moments myself. Everything seems to crash down all at once. The weight on your heart feels too much to bear.

When we carry silent worries—the unanswered questions, the uncertain paths, the hopes we’re too afraid to speak aloud.
When we carry quiet fears about our health—those hidden aches, the diagnoses we dread, the whispered prayers only God hears.
When we carry unseen battles in our relationships—unspoken tensions, strained connections, and a deep longing for peace, understanding, and healing.

And then there are the burdens we tuck away so deep in our hearts—unseen, unshared, and often aching in silence. But even in the middle of all that weight, when our heart feels like it’s drowning beneath it all, our loving Lord gently whispers:

“Come to Me.”

Not to shame you for being tired.
Not to rush you past your pain.
But to give you rest.

Pure and holy rest that restores your soul and quiets the flutter of your heart. A rest that gently reminds you: You’re not carrying this alone.

God doesn’t ask you to be perfect first. He doesn’t wait for you to figure everything out. He simply says, Come to Me— tired, weary, broken, overwhelmed. Just as you are.

God sees what others can’t. He hears the prayers we can’t put into words. He understands the tears we cry in silence and the strength it takes to keep going. In the stillness of unanswered questions and aching uncertainties, His presence remains steady. In Him, we find remarkable peace—not because every storm disappears, but because we no longer carry it alone.

So today, whatever is weighing on your heart, place it in God’s hands through prayer.

And let His love hold you.
Let His strength carry you.
Let your soul find rest in the One who never leaves you— the One who gives true and lasting rest and says:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
—Matthew 11:28—
