A story I absolutely love from the Bible is the account of Jesus calming the storm. This event is documented in the Gospel of Matthew 8:23–27, Mark 4:35–41, and Luke 8:22–25.
When Jesus got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a violent windy storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”
He is our God.
He was there at the beginning of time,
and He will be there at the end of time.
He commands the seas, the sun, the moon, and the stars.
He speaks, it comes to pass.
He is our strength through the storm and over the storm.
He is our provider, protector, healer, and leader.
He is our source of peace and power.
He is all powerful and there is nothing that is impossible for God.
My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, don’t be afraid and always have faith!
The same God who was with the disciples in the boat is with you. No matter what your current storm looks like—our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is with you. There is no storm you’ve faced, nor one you will face, that our Lord won’t endure by your side. He will become the light in your darkest moments, and your hope when all hope is lost. He will walk with you and beside you through every storm, reminding you that you are never alone.
“For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
(Isaiah 41:13)
May the intercession, protection, and blessing of our Blessed Mother be with us always.
And may God have Mercy on us and Save us 🙏
