There are times that you get mad at your mom, and in those moments of frustration, a quick, unkind answer jumps out of your mouth, often before you even realize what you’re saying. Those unkind words cause your mom pain, leaving her feeling hurt. It’s easy to let your emotions take over. In those moments, take a moment to breath and to choose your words carefully.
Because your mom deserves to be respected at all times. The sacrifices she’s made her whole life were just for you. She may drive you crazy at times and will call you a million times to make sure that you are alright. How blessed are to have such a mom?! She just wants to hear your voice to make sure you are alright. No matter what you are doing, take that one minute to answer her call. No matter how busy you are, take that one minute to call her back.
She is your mom, the one who carried you for nine months and everyday since in her heart. She always wants the best for you. She is your number one fan. You might not see it, but she prays for you every morning when she wakes up and every night when she goes to sleep. She prays for you when you don’t answer her call. She pleads to God to protect you. You are her heartbeat, her greatest pride and joy, her reason for breathing and why she continues to work hard. She does it for you! She wants nothing but happiness and joy for you. She rarely receives the gratitude she truly deserves for all she does. Yet, her flame of gratitude reaches close to the Heavens.
Should you be blessed enough to still have your mom breathing the air of this earth, it’s time you start showing her gratitude. Find the warmth in your heart, the forgiveness in your voice and the same amazement you had as a toddler for her. I beg you to please, today and every day, be gentle with your Mom. Hold her in your arms and tell her you love her and you are thankful for all she does.
Because the day will come that her morning greeting will no longer be.
Her voice will no longer be heard.
Her I’m just checking on you calls will no longer be.
All that will be left will be memories.
Honor your mom while you still have her. And always be gentle with your mom 💕
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” [Ephesians 6:1-3 NKJV]
May the intercession, protection, and blessing of our Blessed Mother be with us always.
And may God have Mercy on us and Save us 🙏
