THE 3 TYPES OF PEOPLE YOU WILL MEET …

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, in your life, there will always be three types of people you will meet…

  • The Leaf People
  • The Branch People
  • The Root People

THE LEAF PEOPLE:
These are people who come into your life just for a season. You can’t depend on them, because they tend to be weak and never strong in their faith. They are easily moved and will move where ever the wind blows. They have no clue what love is!

You need to be very careful of these people, because they love you when things are okay, but when the hard and difficult times come, they will leave you.

THE BRANCH PEOPLE:
They are strong, but you need to be careful with them too. They break away when life becomes tough and they can’t handle too much weight. They may stay with you in some seasons, but they will go when it becomes harder. Their love is for a moment and is always conditional.

Lukewarm water describes them best. Because, lukewarm water is not as pure as either cold or heated water. It is stagnant, less healthy and not as useful. You can never depend on branch people. They are not strong enough to help you to stay encouraged and will tell you to just give up, when times get hard. Be mindful of those type of people.

THE ROOT PEOPLE:
These people are very important, because they are extremely strong. They cannot be shaken or removed easily. They don’t do things to be seen. They are supportive even if you go through a difficult time. They will water and keep you standing upright. They are not moved by your position and they will love no matter what! Their love is always unconditional. They are your people for life!

My beautiful Tewahedo Orthodox sister, I hope and pray you can distinguish if your friends are the leaf, branch or root type of people. I pray that you have some amazing “root” type of friends, who will be there with you and for you in good times and bad times. No matter the season, true friends who will show up for you! Those are the type of friends you should seek to have in your life!

Selam Seyoum

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 1: 1-3 NKJV
